Sub-acute Care Hospital

A sub-acute care hospital contracted with IPS to find out what their options were for decreasing the amount of costs associated with the pharmacy they were currently using. This particular hospital focusing on behavioral issues and has two wings; one that treats patients that have eating disorders; and a separate wing that treats patients with psychiatric disorders as well as drug addiction.

Previous to IPS’s involvement, the hospital only had a pharmacist in the hospital once or twice a week, and only for a few hours each time. After contracting with IPS, however, things began to change.

IPS was able to obtain licensing for a pharmacy within this small hospital. We then secured inventory, and placed one full time pharmacist and one full time technician in the pharmacy. Our pharmacy team has a permanent presence on site, and is able to advise the medical professionals within the hospital on treatment programs that will be the most beneficial for their patients.

The pharmacist and technician are able to provide unparalleled patient care, as well as being in close contact with the patients and nurses of the clinic. Changes to drug therapy regimens can be made within minutes instead of days, and monitoring and maintenance of patients overall condition can be conducted much more closely than would be possible had the pharmacy not been placed on sight.

Since contracting with IPS, this sub-acute care hospital has greatly improved patient compliance, as well as the recovery rates of its patients. Once a service that was a hassle for the hospital to obtain, the pharmacy department has now become an integral part of their facility.

Mail Order Pharmacy

A mail order pharmacy whose patient population was mainly composed of workers compensation patients recently contacted IPS to help solve a few of their problems. The company has clients in almost every state, but was experiencing difficulty bringing the pharmacy up to speed with regards to the business that the Sales team was generating. The pharmacy was simply not as efficient as it could have been.

They initially hired us to change the way that their pharmacy department operated, to ensure that it could handle the increase in patients. During the next few months, IPS hired staff, optimized space within the pharmacy, and improved upon the work flow patterns. In a very short period of time, the pharmacy was running with maximum efficiency, and was started to outpace that of the sales staff that had previously exceeded it!

IPS’s relationship with this particular client continues to grow, as they have an ambitious plan to add more services, more products, and more states to its current list. IPS plans on being there to help them on their next endeavor.
